How To Stop Being Selfish And Thrive In life

What does it mean to become a selfish person?

Merriam Webster dictionary has the following description:
“Selfish = Concerned excessively or exclusively with oneself; Seeking or concentrating on one’s own advantage, pleasure or well-being without regard for others.”

I’m excited today because this is a very different spin on how people think the word selfish.

A lot of us out there being selfish and here’s what I mean.

We’re not taking actions on our dreams – doing the things that we need to do to be successful – because we’re so concerned about how we look, how dumb we may sound, how unintelligent we may think that we are.

Take for instant, public speaking. A lot of you want to be public speakers. You dream of being on stage adding value to other people. One of the biggest things that stops you is what are people going to think about me – “What if my clothes look stupid? What if I sound weird?”

So I want to tell you today.  Whatever you’re trying to pursue – whether it’s public speaking, being an entrepreneur, communicating better, all these thoughts that you have swirling in your mind, I want to tell you to stop being selfish!

What does it take to be successful in life?

Everyone wants to be successful in life. Most people think that success is a straight linear path that you follow from point A to point B. The truth is the path can be filled with lots of unexpected detours along the way.

So, I want to ask you one very important question for today.

The question is “What are you feeding yourself single day?”

Because the reality of it is we’re eating, we’re consuming information every single day — whether we’re watching or we’re looking with our eyes, whether we’re hearing with our ears, whether we’re speaking with our mouths or other people are talking to us — we are consuming information.
